Keep your pattern just one tap away

You don't have to find the website again every time you pick up your hook. Here's how to save The Pattern Attic to your phone's home screen.

When I'm working on a tapestry, I want the chart where I can see it, not buried under browser tabs. Adding a home-screen shortcut makes it quicker to return to the interactive book and the large row-by-row color counts.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open The Pattern Attic in Safari.
  2. Open the browser's page/share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.
  3. Name your shortcut The Pattern Attic, choose Open as Web App if your iPhone offers it, then tap Add.

Apple's own home-screen instructions have screenshots if your Safari menu looks different.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open the website in Chrome.
  2. Tap the browser's three-dot menu.
  3. Choose Add to Home screen or Install app, whichever Chrome offers for the site, and confirm.

On a laptop

Bookmark the pattern or pin its browser tab. The picture book has page arrows and zoom controls; the stitch-count tab lets you jump directly to one of the 80 rows.

A little clarification: This is a shortcut to the website, not a separately released Apple or Google Play app. The interactive reader requires an internet connection unless your browser has already cached what it needs. Our optional purchased PDF is intended for offline reference after downloading it.

Your place in the project

For now, the reader remembers your recent page and row on the same device. You can also check rows off as you finish them. We're preparing optional accounts so you can save and restore your progress on another device after signing in.
